Business meets Research 2014: Manufacturing of the Future
The 7th edition of the Luxinnovation Forum “Business meets Research” will take place in Luxembourg on 18-19 June 2014. Based on a new, dynamic concept, the event will offer an interesting and varied programme for entrepreneurs, researchers and experts structured around the main theme “Manufacturing of the Future”. Interactive workshops will be combined with bilateral meetings organised within the framework of the “Innovation Matchmaking”. Interested participants can already register on the event website.
Manufacturing is a key source of innovation and competitiveness in Europe. However, increasing competition and the rapid progress of technological development create a constant need for companies to evolve and adopt new production methods. Based on the needs expressed by the local industry, the main theme of Business meets Research 2014 will be "Manufacturing of the Future".
Researchers and experts from Luxembourg and the Greater Region will present the latest trends, technologies and applicable research results at workshops and pitching sessions on the following topics:
- Additive Manufacturing
- Robotisation of small lot size production
- Environmental sustainability of manufacturing
- Composite materials
Research to Reality at Manchester University
The University of Manchester is now the UK’s largest single-site university. Dr Rich Ferrie, Director of Operations at The University of Manchester Intellectual Property (UMIP), will show how Manchester has developed a unique systematic process and infrastructure which has yielded over 50 new companies and 340 technology licenses since 2004 at his keynote presentation on 19 June. Opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs and management to engage with Manchester will be explored.
Meet business and research at the GR Business Days
In order to further reinforce the international dimension of the forum, it will this year take place as an integrated part of the GR Business Days organised at Luxexpo.
In addition to the workshops and pitching sessions, Business meets Research participants will thus be able to visit the GR Business Days trade fair and get additional business contacts. Meet the Luxembourg public research centres and take advantage of the networking opportunities at the Business meets Research stand in hall 2!
The Innovation Matchmaking has been a great success at previous editions of Business meets Research. It offers you a unique opportunity to arrange bilateral face-to-face meetings with representatives of companies and public research laboratories to present yourself, learn about their skills and capabilities and discuss potential cooperation. All our archives
