Get ready for Horizon 2020 – practical guide published
The European framework programme for research and innovation, Horizon 2020, offers excellent opportunities to conduct international research projects for both companies and public research organisations, but for those with no or little previous experience, it is often a huge challenge to understand what and how to do in order to apply for funding. Luxembourg’s National Contact Point, managed by Luxinnovation, has published a practical guide describing the step-by-step process to follow from having a project idea to a running EU-funded project.
“Get ready for Horizon 2020” is a brief and simple introduction to how to develop a project idea, prepare a proposal and conduct a EU-funded research and innovation project. This 30-page guide explains the rationale of EU funding for research and innovation and describes the basic functioning of the Horizon 2020, the new EU framework programme. It offers a great number of practical and insider tips on how to read work programmes, identify opportunities, and prepare proposals. The evaluation criteria and procedure is also explained, highlighting what evaluators expect and how to avoid common mistakes. The guide is thus an ideal entry point for newcomers to Horizon 2020.
