Luxinnovation at MEDICA 2014
Luxinnovation was, through the Luxembourg BioHealth Cluster, present at MEDICA, the worlds largest medical trade fair, on 12-15 November 2014. Eight companies, most of them members of the BioHealth Cluster, participated in the Luxembourg pavilion at the fair. The Cluster was there to help them extend their network of clients, distributors and partners.
MEDICA attracts exhibitors and visitors in the medical sector from all over the world: the 2014 edition had 130,000 visitors. Eight companies - Ai Mediq, Ceodeux MEDITEC, Dometic Medical Systems, DuPont de Nemours Luxembourg, Fast-track diagnostics, IEE, Laboratoires Réunis and Neo Medical Systems - joined the Luxembourg pavilion organised by the Ministry of the Economy.
Luxinnovation's Thomas Dentzer, Manager of the Luxembourg BioHealth Cluster, was there to support the Cluster members present at the fair. "We are there to provide them with additional introductions and get them in contact with people we know and with whom we want to start projects," Dr Dentzer explains. "One example is that we introduced two of our members to a consortium based in in Düsseldorf for potential collaboration." He is pleased with the high number of visitors and meetings at the stand. "MEDICA allows you to showcase your innovations and products, either to sell them or to find companies with who you can collaborate to further develop them," he points out.
In addition to supporting Cluster members, the BioHealth Cluster also made contacts with several foreign enterprises interested in establishing activities in Luxembourg. "The next step will be to follow up all interesting leads and try to initiate concrete projects," Dr Dentzer concludes. All our archives
