New FOCUS magazine issue on digital innovation
With its high-performing, secure ICT infrastructure, dynamic economy and well-developed start-up support system, Luxembourg is an attractive location for creative entrepreneurs and innovative companies in the field of digital technologies. In order to make the country’s competitive advantages better known at the international level, Luxinnovation showcases Luxembourg’s progress towards becoming a digital nation in the latest issue of the magazine FOCUS – Research and Innovation in Luxembourg.
The attractiveness of Luxembourg is highlighted by several entrepreneurs who base their digital companies in fields such as fintech, biomedicine and the Internet of Things here. “We chose Luxembourg on the grounds of its total commitment to innovation and support for the whole start-up spectrum,” stresses Jacques Touillon, CEO and founder of Airboxlab. Laurent Kratz, co-founder of fintech start-up Scorechain, claims that Luxembourg is an excellent place to conduct ground-breaking work as the country is so used to financial innovation, while Vincent Pedrini, co-founder of Nomoko and participant in the Fit for Start coaching programme, says: “I strongly doubt a young start-up would get this kind of support anywhere else.”
That Luxembourg does not intend to rest on its laurels is clear. Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, interviewed in the magazine, calls the digital economy an essential element of competitiveness and emphasises the government’s determination to make all new laws digital by default. FOCUS also presents the leading role played by Luxembourg in a Europe-wide initiative to build the world’s most powerful High Performance Computing infrastructure and to develop Big Data-enabled solutions for industry and research. All our archives
