New edition of the Luxembourg Space Capabilities catalogue published
The aim of the space capabilities catalogue is to promote the skills, products, services and projects of members of the Luxembourg Space Cluster at international level. The recently published 2015 edition of the catalogue will shortly be used during the Cluster’s participation at the International Paris Airshow at Le Bourget.
“Due to a lack of visibility or information, Luxembourg does not easily come to mind when thinking about space technologies,” says Cluster President Yves Elsen in his editorial of the catalogue. “This is unfortunate, since the country has many high-quality researchers and entrepreneurs in this field.” In order to remedy this, the Luxembourg Space Capabilities catalogue lists all companies and public research organisations by their respective fields of activity.
25 companies and 6 public research units are featured in the 2015 edition of the catalogue, which was first published in 2011. Compared to the update done in 2013, this year’s version includes five new companies: Dronelab, Foersom, Meanswhat, MIRAD Systems and Saturne Technologies. It also highlights the space-related skills and expertise of the three departments of the newly created Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).
“This catalogue is a very useful instrument to spur international collaboration,” Mr Elsen points out. “As Chairman of the Luxembourg Space Cluster, I strongly support this initiative which helps to deploy the know-how ‘made in Luxembourg’ beyond our national borders.”
